In the Legislative Assembly to-night the debate on the second reading of the Land Act Amendment Bill was closed, and on going to a division the bill was negatived by 43 to 33. In consequence of the result of the division the Premier, Sir Henry Parkes, moved the adjournment of the House, and this was agreed to. It is generally believed that the Ministry will resign in consequence of its defeat.
