The foundation stone of St. Andrew's Church at Port Ahuriri will be laid by tho Bishop of VVaiapu at 5 p.m. to-day, and a tea meeting and sacred concert will be held in the temporary church at 6.30 p.m. The Victoria Lodge of Freemasons holds its regular monthly meeting in tho Masonic Hall, Munroe street, this evening at 7.30. Mr Hugh Aplin, conductor, announces that there will be no rehearsal to-night. Mr Lyndon will sell pineapples, bacon, hams, oatmeal, and other goods, by auction at his mart to-morrow at 11 a.m.

Messrs Monteith and Co. sell 50,000 feet first-class building timber at Glendinning's yards, near Napier railway station, at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow.

The Napier Rifle Volunteers parade at the Protestant Hall on Thursday evening. Accounts due on September 30 to Mr J. Watson, llavelock store, if not paid ov arranged for by end of this month, will be sued for without further notice.

On Saturday at 11 a.m. Messrs Monteith and Co. will sell at the Horse Bazaar a stock of hosiery, ties, hats, watches, jewellery, &c, and at 1.30 p.m. their weekly sale of stock, vehicles, &c, will take place. The Frank Guy will leave for Westport on or about Wednesday, 22nd instant, and the Silver Cloud for Newcastle, N.S.W., on or about Saturday, 25th instant.

The word " Pctane " was inserted in error in the announcement re the local option poll to be taken in the Pukctapu licensing district ; it should read " Puketapu licensing district."
