ALEXANDRIA.
November 7.
In reply to his request to be informed upon what grounds the Egyptian Government refused him to resume his seat at the Council of Ministers, M. Brediff has been informed by Cherif Pacha, the President of the Council, that as Sir Auckland Colvin, the British ControllerGeneral of Egyptian finance, now abstains from taking his seat at the Council
it is deemed inexpedient to admit a French representative to the Council of Ministers.
The health of the British troops now stationed in Egypt is at the present time fat from satisfactory. Fever in various forms is exceedingly prevalent in the ranks, and the number of men on tbe sick list is daily increasing.
Earl Dufrerin, the British Ambassador to the Porte, who has been commissioned to conduct the negotiations for the settlement of affairs in Egypt, arrived here to-day from Constantinople.
