The total quantity of wheat iifloat for Great Britain, has decreased by 50,000 quarters during the week, and is now 1,830,000 quarters. Australian tallow lias declined Is per cwt, and best beef is now worth 43s 6d, and best mutton 465. October 21. The bank rate remains afc 5 and the market rate at 3 J per cent. '1 lie bank reserve stands at £10,300,000, or £300,000 more than lust week. New Zealand securities remain at last quotations, viz., five per cent 10-40 loan, 105£ ; five per cent 1889 loan, 107; four and a half per cent 1879-19i>4 loan, lOli. Colonial breadstuffs are firm at 49s for Adelaide wheat, ex-warehouse, and 43s to 46s for New Zealand ditto ; Adelaide flour, 345, ex-warehouse. Australian tallow is quiet at 44s 6d for best beef, and 47s for best mutton.
