October 19. The official list of awards at the Bordeaux wine exhibition shows that Victoria takes nine first, fifteen second, and nine third prizes, together with five honorable mentions ; New South Wales takes five first, nine second, eleven third prizes, and two honorable mentions; South Australia, two first, four second, three tbird prizes, and five honorable mentions. The British troops are now beginning to arrive from Egypt, and banquets are being organised in their honor, at several places. The tenders for the Auckland Harbor Board £150,000 five per cent loan were opened to-day. The total amount offered is £345,500, tbe tenders ranging from £100 to £105, the average being £101 12s 2d. Tenders at £101 10s 6d and upwards will receive in full, and those at £101 10s will receive 75 per cent. October 20. The homeward mails via San Francisco, which left Auckland on September 12, were delivered here to-day, three days in advance of the contract time. There is a fair demand for wool, and a better enquiry for all descriptions of New Zealand wools.
