The Napier Rifle Volunteers parade at the Protestant Hall to-night at 8 o'clock sharp. The monthly meeting of the Shepherd's Friendly Society will take place to-morrow evening. Messrs Monteith and Co. hold their usual weekly sale of stock, vehicles, farm implements, produce, furniture, &c., at the Horse Bazaar on Saturday, Application will be made to the Supreme Court in Bankruptcy on Monday, October 30, for declarations of the complete execution of the deeds of arrangement in the estates of James Watson and John Hayden arranging debtors. Mr Ryan will sell by auction at his mart on Saturday, Canterbury hams and bacon, fowl wheat, local-cured bacon, and onions. Mr Dugleby invites tenders for the erection of additions to the Napier Hospital, and also for the erection of a fever ward in connection with the Waipukurau Hospital. Mr M. R. Miller sells a quantity of fencing wire and staples by auction at the stores of Messrs Kinross and Co. on Tuesday next. Mr Prebble, fruiterer, lias been appointed Napier agent for Mr Goddard, nurseryman, Havelock, and all orders left with him will receive prompt and careful attention. Messrs Blythe and Co. will have remnants on the tables for a few days. Mr Boyle's pure bred Clydesdale sire Bothwell will stand this season at Havelock. Mr Boyle offers two special prizes of four guineas each for the best filly got by Bothwell, to be awarded at the Agricultural and Pastoral Society's Show in 1884. The schooner Endeavor is open for freight to Wellington. The steamer Oreti leaves for Gisborne and Auckland at noon to-morrow, and the steamers Kiwi and Go-Ahead for Wellington, the former at 7 p.m., and the latter at 6 p.m. to-morrow. Woods' eucalyptis balsam is an efficacious remedy for coughs, colds, asthma, and bronchial affections of all kinds. A number of new advertisements will be found in our " Wanted" column.
