Aa a four-year-old won the Midlothian Agricultural Aasociation'a premium of LSO, and the Highland Society's gold medal at Perth. His sire Bergamic won the Highland Society's first prize at Kelso in 1863. and numerous other first prizes. Bergaraie's dam Maggie won three first prizes at Camphelltown, and her aire Farmer's Fancy won the Highland Society s first prize at Glasgow in 1545. Hii dam Peggy won many prizca, and was got by Clyde Boy, first prize Stallion at Haddimrton Show, 1858, also second priz° at Highland Society s Show, 1858. Clyde Boy waa the sire of the Champion horae Sir Walter Scott, who gained the highest honors at the Royal Societj s Show in England, and the Highland Society a Show in -cotland. Darling won as a yearling—first prizes at Ayr, Glasgow, Hamilton, and Highland Society s at Aberdeen, Aa a two-year-old won first prize at Dumfries; as a three-year-old first prize at Ayr, Glasgow, Hamilton, and Highland Societys at Perth; as a four-year-old, first prize at Hamilton and Glasgow ; Cup at Newcastle aa a five-year-old, first prize at Glasgow ; second prize at Stirling; Highland Society s Cup at Newcastle, and 50 guineas for tbe best mare in the yard. Aa a six-year-oIJ, first prize at Glasgow and Stirling. Her sire Prince Albert was a toted Stallion. Her dam Old Darling by Samson won aa a three-year-old firet prize at the Highland Socioty s Show at Stirling. She was also the dam of Prince of Wales, Prince Arthur and of two other colts, sold as yearllnga at 200 guineaa each.
