WAIROA.

October 13. The Inspector of Schools, Mr Hill, examined the Frasertown school yesterday. The attendance was 43, and the upper standards showed good results. The Clyde school is being examined today, and the attendance is good, 86. The horses St. Patrick and Blair Athol arrived last night. A mob of 46 horses passed through from Gisborne to-day en route to tbe Waikato. The Catholic Church will be opened on Sunday by Father Reignier. The County Council meets to-morrow to discuss the chairman's motion for borrowing £7000 under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act. It is generally believed that the resolution will be passed.
