ST. ANDREW'S CHURCH, PORT AHURIRI.
The annual meeting of the members of St. Andrew's temporary church, Port Ahuriri, took place this week, the Bishop of Waiapu presiding. The following report was presented : — At the close of another year it gives the committee great pleasure to lay before you an account of the various operations that hare been carried on amongst you in connection with this church. The work of the church has progressed steadily during, the past year. It seemed to the committee, in looking forward to the work that has to bo done amongst us, that the church must rely with confidence upon tbe affectionate, prompt, and liberal assistance of every member in promoting whatever may be really necessary for the true spiritual welfare of us all. If the ministry of our church is worth anything it is worth advancing to the highest attainable point of effectiveness. It is because we believe that the relation between God and the soul is of paramount importance, that we do not hesitate to urge every member to be deeply in earnest in setting forward to the utmost of his or her ability tbe interests of true religion. Thankful for tbe cheerful and liberal help that has hitherto been accorded, we wsuld now ask for a very special renewed effort in the view of what our district needs for healthy development.
