Every visitor will receive a present. The Napier Rifle Volunteers will parade in Clive Square at 8 o'clock this evening, and march to the Council Chamber, when the presentation of company prizes for the past year will be made at 8.30 sharp. Tlio members of the Napier Fire Brigade hold a general meeting this evening for the election of oflicers. A local option poll will be taken in the Clive licensing district to-morrow at the public hall, Clive, so that) the ratepayers may determine whether the several licenses issued i

under the Licensing Act may or may not bo increased. David Cartnichael, the younger, of Norsewood, teamster, a debtor, will make application at a meeting of his creditors to be held at the Court House, Napier, to-morrow at 2 p.m., for a certificate that he has complied with the provisions of the Bankruptcy Acts. Me3srs Banner and Liddle will sell by auction to-morrow at 11 a.m., at their rooms, furniture, trade requisites, groceries, clothing, and doors and sashes. Mr Dugleby will receive tenders not later than 4 p.m. to-morrow for taking clown, shifting, and re-erecting the Free Methodist Church, Shakespeare road. Tenders for raising and removing a building in Carljlo street must also bo forwarded to Mr J. S. Jones, grocer, to-morrow. A public meeting of the church of England Temperance Society will take place in St. John's school-room on Monday evening, of which particulars will be announced. At the meeting of creditors of George Bradley, of Taradale, a bankrupt, Mr J. A. Napier, of the same place, was appointed trustee of the estate. Messrs Bristy and Hunter, the contractors, invite tenders for the plumbing, gas fitting, and bell hanging work required in the new residence in course of erection at Mount Vernon, Waipukurau, for Mr J. Harding. Messrs Banner and Liddle have been appointed agents in Hawke's Bay for Messrs W. and A. Gilboy, the elebrated English wine and spirit merchants, and are prepared to receive orders for the different descriptions of liquor, stocks of which are now on hand. Further particulars can be obtained from Messrs Banner and Liddle on application. The swimming season has commenced at the Napier baths, White road, which are open daily for ladies and gentlemen from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. At Messrs Monteith and Co.'s horse sale on Saturday four highly-bred setter pups, a corn crusher, grindstone, and sundry lot of fencing tools, &c, will be offered without reserve. Four horses have been impounded at Hastings, and one at Taradale. Unless redeemed the former will be sold on the 26th and the latter on the 27th instant. Mr J. A. Napier, trustee in the estate of George Bradley, of Taradale, saddler, a debtoi , , has appointed Mr Bradley to receive all debts duo to the estate, and his receipt will bo sufficient. The finder of a wire grating, lost between Spit and town, will be rewarded by returning same to Mr Robert Holt. Woods' eucalyptis balsam is an efficacious remedy for coughs, colds, asthma, and bronchial affections of all kinds.
