The four-act drama, " The Willow Copse," will be produced at the Theatre Royal tonight by amateurs, the proceeds to be given in aid of the library fund of the Napier Hospital. The performance will be under the patronage of the Mayor and the members of the Hospital Committee. The Agricultural and Pastoral Society's annual show commences to-morrow on the society's grounds at Hastings. The general public will be admitted after 11 a.m. The judges of sheeep are requested to be on the ground by 10.30 a.m. to-morrow, and judges of cattle, horses, &c, not later than 9 a.m. on Thursday. Applications for the appointment of road overseer to the "Waipawa County must he sent in to the County Council not later than to-morrow. During the holidays the Petane coach leaves the Clarendon Hotel at 11 a.m. and at noon, returning in the afternoon. The last term of the Ladies' College commences to-morrow. The regular monthly meeting of the Scinde Lodge of Freemasons will be held in the Masonic Hall, Tennyson-street, on Thursday evening. The finder of some keys which are lost will be rewarded on leaving same at office of this paper. At Messrs M. E. Miller and Potts annual show sale at Hastings on Friday, in addition to the stock already announced for sale, several pure Merino and Lincoln stud rams will be submitted to public competition.

Mr E. Txike has the Purimu dairy farm and Purimu cottage, three miles from town on the new Taradale road, to let for a term of years. Mr Lyndon will dispose of by auction on Friday next, at his mart, a consignment of china, earthenware, and holloware, from the pottery of Josiah Wedgwood and Sons. Mr R. Holt has a stock of tongued and grooved pine, and wire mortice and straining posts, for sale at his sawmill, Port Ahuriri.

Messrs M. R. Miller and Potts have for sale privately 300 stud Merino rams and 500 ewes fx'om the stock of J. Pearson, Esq., Burnt Hill, Canterbury. Mr J). Levi has just received an immense variety of spectacles. Mr Levi has made the adjustment and selection of spectacles to suit all sights a practical study, so that his patrons may be certain of securing good glasses. To those who cannot afford to pay Mr Levi will give a pair of spectacles free of charge. Mr George Scarfe has removed to his new premises in Dickens-street, where he is selling for cash at the very lowest rates. Mr Denholin has been appointed agent at the Spit for Mr Woods, pharmaceutical chemist.
