(Br Telegbaph.) Obaei, September 29. For the Geraldine races yesterday there was splendid weather and a large attendance. The meeting was held on the new course at Orari. The following are the results : — HANDICAP HUBDLE BACE, Of 85 soys., 2 miles. It was an excellent race, but Clarence bad it in his hand from the start, and wo'i by three lengths from Lady Perdita, Mokarakara a good third. MAIDEN PLATE, Of 40 soys., lj miles. Mr Lunn'e Welcome Jack, 7st 51b, (W.Butler) 1 Messrs Maeon and Vallance's Turquoise, 7st slb, (tr. Williams) ... 2 Mr O Brien's Holderness, 9st 51b, (Clifford) 3 Blue Jacket and Trinket were scratched. Betting was even on Turquoise, and 6 to 4 on Welcome Jack. Turquoise and Welcome Jack took up the running at the start, and kept together till nearly finished, when the latter shot in front, and won by a neck amid loud cheers. Holderness was a good third. Ttiere was £190 in the totalisatcr, and thirty on the winner. Time, 2 mins. 47£ sees. GEBALDINE HANDICAP, Of 100 soys., 1J miles. Tasman, (Clifford) 1 King Quail, (Thomson) 2 Sir Modred, (Goodman) 3 This was an excellent race, and was won by naif a length, the came distance separating the third horse. Time, 2 mins. 16 sees. There was £222 in the totalisator, and forty-six on the wiuuer. COTJNTT PLATE, Of 50 soys., 1_ miles. Walker's Doris ... ... ... 1 Denson's Kebecca 2 Light others started. j
