HONOR TO WHOM HONOR IS DUE.
[To the Editor of the Daily Telegraph.] Bib, —I see by your paper this evening we are honored by a visitor in the person of W. H. Pilliet, Esq., the member for Stanmore. Had the people of Napier known in time of the honor about to be conferred upon them by the member for Stanmore, in preferring Iheir society even to that of his own constituency, who must be hungering for his return, they would doubtless have organised a deputation to meet him on his arrival. The time for that, Sir, is now, I fear, gone Dy. Might I, however, suggest that we should show our esteem for this honest straightforward Liberal by a grand bonfire on the hills. "Who knows but our own true blue may have gone South to honor the electorate of Slanmore ? Be it ours to set them the example of rendering "honor to whom honor is due," and give their member the full fifth of November honors due to a— Guido Faux. Napier, September 26, 1882.
