December. 23—Oreti, 8.9., for Gisborne and Auckland. 28—Maori, s.s., for Mohaka, "with several natives. « The steamer Kiwi, Captain .Tames Campbell, arrived from Wellington via Castle Point at about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and Vriis brought inside about 3 and berthed at the breastwork. She reports bavins; left Wellineton at 11.30 pm. on s?«i?sciay, and having experienced heavy 'westerly -winds the whole way. She brings over 170 tons of cargo for here, which is beinc discharged to-day. She will leave for Wellington again at about 8 o'clock tonight. The steamer Oreti, Captain Campbell, left for Gisborne and Auckland at about 8 o'clock last night. The steamer > c ir Donald returned from Waihua and Moeanaiangi at a late hour last night, with 86 bales of wool from the former and 80 bales from the latfcpr place. She is to leave for Fairy Bay to-night. The Ba. Maori Capt*. Ander?on, left, for Mohaka about 11 o'clock last night, with a fair cargo. The brigantine Endeavor, Capt. J. Dick, arrived from Oamaru at 5 o'clock this morning, with a cargo of produca. She had not been communicated with up to the time cmr report left *he Spit, and will probably be towed inside by the Sir Donald this afternoon. The 8.3. Boojnm is to leave for Wairoa at 12 o'clock on Monday night. The s.s. Botomnhana, Cnpfc. Underwood, is due here at daylight in the morning. She ■will be tendered as usual by the Boojum for mails and passengers, and by the Three Brothers for cargo, some 20 tons, the Eotomahana steaming for the South, Hobart, and Melbourne, at 11 a.m. The Union r O mpany's e.s. Potorua dops not leave Wellington until to-morrow afternoon, and will therefore) not arrive here before Sunday. Steam will be got up on the p.s. Manaia this afternoon to test the variou? points and connrctions in her engine room. She it announced to make her trial trip to Wairoa on Boxing day, and nvill take passenger* at excursion rates.
