LONDON WOOL AND TALLOW MARKET.

The New Zealand and Mercantile Agency Company, under date London, November 3, report as follows :— Wool.—Since the close of the late series transactions have been of an unimportant character, confined principally to the clearance of parcels withdrawn during the auctions. Advices from the Home manufacturing centres continue satisfactory, and a . fair consumption of colonial and the finer evades of Home-grown wools is going on. In France it is assumed that stocks are not largo, while consumers have been fairly employed during the interval. Considerable transactions in tho raw material have been reported in the United States, but their effect upon the English market has not yet been apparent. Having regard to the general activity prevailing both in this country and abroad we consider we aro -justified inlooking with some confidence to the result of the fourth series of sules to commence on the 22nd instant proving satisfactory,'more particularly in the case of sound sliafty Merino wools, which in all probability will be in limited supply. Tallow. —At the four public auctions which have been held since the issue olu , last circular via San Francisco gQg oas ] :(S have been offered and 5 ' so \<\. Prices throughout have b<\ cn m ' ar fc ec i by 'considerable fluctuating. On 7th ultimo fino mutton realised 4 og a t 453 3d anc i bee f per cwfc-j but eince then the market has given way at fcaoh succeeding auction, so that, condition and quality being equal, 41s 6d per cwt. for mutton and oos per cwt for beef aro now extreme quotations. The manner in which a number of parcels, bought spoculatively for the rise, have been lately thrust upon the market ha 3 had the effect of unduly depressing prices. Wo quote :—
