I have examined tho Samplk of M'Ewin's Bottlbd Alb submitted to me, and find that it contains - Alcohol by weight, 5"40 per cent; or by volume, 6 - 55 per cent. Extractive matter, 806 per cent.; Acid matter, o*l7 per cent. I have also examined tho Alb for such deleterious ingredients as aro sometimes added to Beer, and have found no indication of their presence. The three first conditions laid down by the Committee for Winbs and Bbbrs for the late International Exhibition, as those to which especial prominence would bo given, were—lst, Low alcoholic per centago : 2nd, Freedom from acidity ; 3rd Absence of fusel oil; and all these ire fulfilled in th sample.
