OUR WATER SUPPLY.
[To the Editor of tho Daily Tble&babh.] Sib,—Kindly allow me, through the medium of your columns, to draw the attention of the municipal authorities to the water now being delivered to consumers from the high pressure supply. I drew a tub full this morning, as usual, to have my bath, but it was so thick and filthy, and stank so badly, that I had to desist and go dirty. Now if this water is not fit to wash in, it is not very difficult to imagine what will be the result of using it for drinking purposes. Surely the Mayor or the sanitary authorities will not allow this state of things to exist when a small outlay in cleansing the reservoir would remedy if, especially just now, when thousands are being spent apparently to render our streets almost impassible.—T am, &c. Pro Bono Publico. Napier, December 19, 1881.
