In addition to the action Carr versus the Standard Insurance Company of New Zealand, to recover tbe insurance on the schooner Alma, in which a verdict was last month returned for tbe plaintiff, judgment has by order of the Court been postponed. The enquiry held by tbe University Council into the fracas which occurred at the meeting of the professional board to the university last week has resulted in the suspension of Professor Elkington for three months, and Professor Hanson for two months.
Latest Mauritius advicPS report that the engagements of sugar for Dunedin amount to 750 ton?, and for Lyttelton to 200 to') 8, but none had cleared since the sth November.
