PORT AHURIRI

ARRIVALS. December. 6—Fftiry, s.s., from the coast. ♦ The s.s. Fairy, Captain Campbell, returned from the coast at about 6 o'clock this morning, having been unable to do anything on account of the souther now blowing. The s.s. Sir Donald, Capt. Quinlan, cM not leave for the coast last night, owing to the unsettled state of the weather. No advice has been received as to the movements of the s.s. Kiwi. Messrs Shaw, Savill and Co. s A 1 ship Hermione, 1120 tons register, Capt. D. T. Eoberts, cleared at the Custom House yesterday afternoon, which, considering that she only completed her loading late on Saturday, is remarkably quick. The following comprises a list of her cargo and its shippers : —Shipped by Messi'3 Kinross and Co. on their own and Mr M. R. Miller's account, 2807 bales of wool, 52 bales of sheepskinß, 1 cask of tallow, 4 bales of basils, and 1 case of personal effects, value at £53,670 11s 8d; shipped by Mr F. W. Williams, 42 casks of tallow, 1391 bales of wool, 12 bales of skins, 21 kegs of tallow and meat, 33 cases of extract of beef, and 9i bales of wool valued at £29,005 14s 6d ; shipped by Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., 1077 bales of wool and 36 bales of skins, valued at £16,185 19s 6d ; shipped by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, 12 bales of wool, valued at £204 6s. The grand totals are—s393 bales and 9£ bales of wool, skins, and basils, 43 casks of tallow, and 55 pkgs of preserved meat and effects, the whole being valued at £99,066 11s Bd. This is by far the largest and most valuable cargo of produce that has been shipped from Hawke's Bay in one vessel. The Uermione is ready for sea, and will sail as soon as the wind becomes favorable, when we wish Captain Roberts, his officers and crew, a lon voyage.

[by cable.] Albany, December 5. Arrived, this morning, in King George's Sound, the P. and O. Company's steamship Carthage. One of the passengers is suffering from scarlatina, and the vessel has accordingly been placed in quarantine. She brings the outward mails via Brindisi, dated London, November 4. Sydney, December 5. Arrived, this afternoon, Union Company's steamship Hero from New Zealand.
