December 6. In the Appeal Court fo-day judgment wa* given in the case of Rees v. Barker (Napier) discharging the rule for a new trial, each party to pay their own costs. The case of Orombie v. Pearce and others (Wellington , ) is now being heard. At the Magistrate's Court to-day the information against Gladman Smith for alleged roll-stuffing was withdrawn. A similar charge against Cornelius Ryan was dismissed, tbe Bench having a doubt as to the wilful intention of the accused.
