NOMINATIONS.
Avon.—The Hon. W. Rollesfon was re-elected to-day without opposition. Christchurch North. — Mr S. P. Andrew, one of the lafe members for Christchurch, and Mr H. Thomson, a jeweller, were proposed. The show of hands was—Thomson, 26; Andrew?, 20. Christchurch South.—Mr John Anderson, engineer, and Mr John Holmes, solicitor, were proposed. The show of hands was largely in favor of Mr Holmes. Heathcote.—Mr J. T. Fisher, the old member, Major PJurnbrook, and Mr Wynn Williams, solicitor, were proposed. The show of hands was—Fisher, 14, Hurnbrook, 21; Williams, 4. Sydenham— Mr N. White, coal and timber merchant, Mr J. W. Treadwell, accountant, Mr J. R. Andrews, stonemason, Mr C. 'Clarke, auctioneer, were proposed. The show of hands was— White, 30; Treadwell, 6 ; Andrews, 7 ; Clarke, 8. Caversham. —Mr Barron was re-elected without opposition. South Wellington. — Messrs Paul Coffey, W. B. Edwards, W. Hutchison, C. Hendrey, and C. J. Forward, were proposed. The latter found no seconder. The show of hands was—Coffey, 56; Hutchison, 43 ; Edwards, 18; Hendrey, 9. Franklin.—Messrs Smith, Lowry, and E. Hamlin. South Wairarapa.—Messrs H. Bunny, W. Buchanan, and Barton Boys. Manawatu.—The Hon. Walter Johnston was the only candidate nominated, and he was declared duly elected. Wainui (Aahburton).—Messrs 0. W. Parnell, J. C. Mason, and J. Ivess. Ashley.—Messrs M. Dison, W. F. Pearson, and W. Paterson. Kaiapoi.—Messrs Isaac Wilson, and 3. H. Lee. Stanmore. —Messrs W. P. Cowlishaw, W. F. Pelliet, J. Fleeher, and R. Clepham, Mr Clepham nominated himself in order to be able to speak, and when he wished to retire his seconder refused to consent.
Lyttelton.--.The Hon. E. Richardson, H. Allwright, and Mr S. R. Webb. Clutha.—Messrs A. N. Jewitt and J. W. Thompson. Tuapeka.—Messrs J. C. Brown and G. F. C.Browne. . Wallace.—Messrs H. Hirst, F. Daniel, J. C. Ellis, M. Johnston, G. C. Buttolph, H. S. Hodgkinson, and H. M'lntosh. Hokotui.—Messrs E. Cowan, 11. Driver, and P. T. Finn. Moeraki.-—W. Murcott, J. M'Kenssie, ana W. H. Williams. Geraldine. —Messrs John Hayhurst, Edward Wakefield, and William Postlethwaite. David Leach was also proposed, but obtained no seconder. H^Selwyn.—The Hon. John Hall and Mr J. Lockheart. North Wairarapa.—Messrs Renall and Beetham. The Gh'ow of hands was in favor of the former, and a poll was demanded. Roslyn.—Mr John Bathgate, Captain Scott, Mr Edmund Hodgkinson, and Mr David Millar were nominated. The show of bands was—Hodgkinson, 20; Scott, 14; Bathgate, 11; Millar, 1. Peninsula. —Messrs Jas. Beaton, W. H. Cutten, M. Donnelly, and James Lewis. The show of hands was: —'Jutten and Donnelly, 14 ; Seaton, 10; Lewis 1.
