The steamer Oreti arrived hero from Auckland at 6 o'clock last night, and was brought inside and berthed at the breastwork this morning. She reports having experienced heavy southerly "weather and high seas after leaving Gisborne, having to take shelter in Happy Jack's for twelve hours. She brought a large quantity of cargo for here, including transhipments out of the Antares from London, and a halfdecked yacht to the order of Messrs Weber and Thompson. Sho is to leave for Wellington and Lyttelton at 3 o'clock this afternoon.

The schooner Elizabeth Conwaay, Capt. W. Ware, sailed for Wellington in ballast this morning. The brigantine Eliza and Mary, Capt. J. W. Cumming, "was towed outside by the Oreti this morning, and sailed for Wellington in ballast.

Tlie topsail schooner Sovereign will probably get away for Auckland this afternoon "with a part original cargo. The s.s. Kiwi successfully transhipped the new boiler into the p.s. Manaia yesterday afternoon, and finished discharging tho general goods this morning. She leaves for Wellington and the coast at 3 o'clock this afternoon.

The steamers Result and Maori leave for Wairoa with passengers and good cargoes at 12 o'clock to-night sharp. Messrs. Shaw, Savill and Co.'s ship Hermione, Captain Roberts, is expected to be a full ship by Saturday, and consignees are warned by advertisement to render all accounts against her by noon on Monday.

The steamers Sir Donald and Fairy leave for Wangaehti and Blackhead respectively to-night for wool. The New Zealand Shipping Company's barque Cooleen, Capt. Barkley, cleared at the Custom House for London at noon on Monday. The following is a summary of her cargo and its shippers : —Shipped by Messrs Wardrop and Co., 138 bales of greasy wool and six bales of scoured wool, valued at £3080 3s 4d. Shipped by Messrs Kinross and Co., 513 bales of greasy wool, 12 bales of greasy skins, 5 bales scoured wool, and 5 casks of tallow, valued at £10.031 12s 6d. Shipped by the New Zealnd Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, 856 bales greasy and 99 bales scoured wool, 10 bales greasy skins, and 30 casks of tallow, valued at £18,655 14s. Shipped by Messrs G. E. G. Richardson and Co., 1026 bales of greasy and 147 bales of scoured wool, Valued at £20,826 7s. Shipped by the New Zealand Shipping Company, 5 bales of greasy skins, valued at £41, the grand totals being 2817 bales of wool and skins, and 35 casks of tallow, the whole being valued at £52,634 16s lOd.
