No eutry will be received for any race except upon the condition that all claims, disputes, aud objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards, or whom they may appoint, and their decision upon all points shall be final. .... , All protests must be accompanied with a deposit of 2 soys, which sum shall be forfeited to the funds if the protest is not sustained. All nominations, entries, acceptances, &c., accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, must be addressed to the Secretary, and left at Beecrofc's Hotel, Hastings, not later than 10 p.m. on the several specified dates. The rules and weights ol the Hawke s Bay Jockey Club as in force at the date of the meeting, will be strictly adhered to. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent, of " Hack " shall mean a horse that has never started in a weight for age or handicap race.
