CONSTANTINOPLE.

November 24,

A difficulty has arisen between the Turkish and Greek Governments regarding the existence of a Greek post office in this city. The matter has formed the subject of lengthy diplomatic communications, and as no settlement could be arrived at the Porte has now peremptorily ordered the closing of the office.

It has transpired that Mr Bourke, the Turkish bondholder's delegate, did his utmost during the progress of the negotiations with the Ottoman financial commission to support the Government in its refusal to agree to the demand of the Russiau Ambassador, that the question of the payment of the war indemnity should be dealt with simultaneously with the claims of the foreign bondholders.
