Hawera, November 26
The natives seem taking matters more easily. At Okoiawa (Titokowaru's place) those who have remained have cleared a place for the returning ones, who are dropping in by threes from Oeo. A bullock and pigs have been lulled to feast them.
The Native Minister is here with Sir W. Pox. The inhabitants of Hawera present an address this morning fo Mr Bryce complimenting himself and Government on, the success so far attained.
Lieutenant West, of the Nelson Artillery, who was sent to the hospital suffering from sunstroke, is recovering, and will probably get home on Wednesday next.
