SYDNEY.

November 24. At to-day's sitting of the conference of committees of the Legislative Council and Assembly for the consideration of the Influx of Chinese Restriction Bill, the question of a £10 poll tax upon all Chinese coming into the colony by land was discussed at length, and the representatives of the Council ultimately agreed to accede to the demand of the Assembly for the retention of the clauses providing for the imposition of the tax. A cricket match between the English team and twenty-two of Maitland, in the New South Wales districts, was concluded at that town to-day, and resulted in a draw in favor of the English men.
