MR. KELLY AT NEW PLYMOUTH.

(by telegraph.)

New Plymouth, November 23,

Mr Kelly addressed the electors last evening. The was a large meeting, Mr Samuel in the chair. Mr Kelly reviewed the work of the past session, and declared for free and purely secular education. He said ifc was creditable to the Government to ask Mr Bryce to again take the portfolio of Native Minister. He spoke most enlogistically of the volunteers, and said the House should not grudge granting subsidies when their value had been thoroughly evinced during the late native crisis. He said he was in favor of granting bonuses for local industries, and concluded by showing that in the past he had assisted in getting public works carried on in tho district, and the country opened up. A vote of confidence was carried, there being only ono hand against it.
