November 29

Eight escapees from the French penal settlement at New Caledonia have been captured at Fraser Island, off the coast of this colony, near Maryborough. The escapees had been thirteen dpys at sea in an open boat. They were brought up at the Maryborough Police Court to-day, and remanded to Brisbane. SYDNEY. November, 21. Three fresh cases of small-pox have been reported to the Health Board. The sufferers and the infected houses in Liverpool, Sussex, and Cooper streets have all been quarantined.
