RAILWAY MANAGEMENT.
[To the Editor of tho Daily Telegraph.] Sib,—l shall feel obliged if you will
kindly insert this, as it may be the means of preventing a recurrence of what I have to complain, On the 10th inst. I was informed that a few coils of wire had been sent from Napier to Makatoku consigned to me. Mr Jones and also Mr Hamblin had both been requested to bring the goods, but I was toll? that there was no wire there. On Saturday Mr Murphy went expressly from Woodville to Makatoku, a distance of thirty-two and a half miles, in order to fetch it. Arriving on the and enquiring of the station master, he «vac told that the wire was lying at Ormondville, although addressed to Makatoku, and that if he wanted it he had better drive round for it, an extra distance of about fourteen to sixteen miles for horses which had to do the return journey the same day. Surely, sir, it is time that something should be done in the Railway Department for the benefit of the public, to save them from the annoyance, inconvenience, and expense which has been incurred in this case. —I am, &c, G. A. Kma. Woodville, November 14tb, 1881. +
