ELECTION OE MAYOR. tTTTHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions TV of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1870," the annual ordinary Election of a Mayor for the Borough of Napier will be held on WEDNESDAY, the SOth day of November, 1881. Now, therefore. I, the undersigned, hereby appoint the Office of the Town Clerk, Napier, as the place, and THURSDAY, the 24th day of November instant, aa the day for Nomination of Candidates ; and further notify that any persons desirous of nominating a Candidate, must, before noon of tho said 24th day of November cause to be addressed to me, and delivered at the said Office of the Town Clerk, a Nomination Paper in the prescribed form, statins tho Christian Names and surname of such Candidate; and each such Nomination Paper must be signed by Two Electors of the Borough, and by the Candidate himself in token of his assent to such Nomination. Every Candidate must, at the time of his nomination, deposit with mc the sum of Ten Pounds, which sum, if the Candidate is elected without a poll, or if he polls not leas than one-eighth part of the number of votes polled by the successful Candidate, will be returned ; but if he does not poll such one-eighfh, the deposit will be forfeited, and paid into the Borough Fund.
