ELECTION OF MAYOR. iTffHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions VV of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," tho annual ordinary Election of a Mayor for the Borough of Napier will be held on WEDNESDAY, the 30th day of November, 1881. Now, therefore, I, the undersigned, hereby appoint the Office of the Town Clerk, Napier, as the place, and THURSDAY, the 24th day of November instant, as tho day for Nomination of Candidates ; and further notify that any persons desirous of nominating a Candidate, must, before noon of the said 2ith day of November, cause to be addressed to me, and delivered at the said Office of the Town Clerk, a Nomination Paper in the prescribed form, stating the Christian Names and surname of such Candidate; and each such Nomination Paper must be signed by Two Electors of the Borough, and by the Candidate himself in token of bis assent to such Nomination. Every Candidate must, at the time of his nomination, deposit with me the sum of Ten Pounds, which Eiim, if the Candidate is elected without a poll, or if lie polls not less than one-eighth part of the number of votes polled by the successful Candidate, will be returned ; but if he does not poll such one-eighth, the deposit will be forfeited, and Returning Officer.
