The Hon. John Hall arrived on baturday. He will probably address his constituents next Saturday
Messrs Ford and Co., held a sale of racing stock on Saturday, when the following yearlings, bred by Mr S. Nos worthy, were sold :—Colt by Albany, no dam, 120 guineas, to the Hon. W. Robinson; colt by Albany-Malice, 50 guineas, to Mr Brabazon ; colt by KorariAmatere, the dam of Grip, 160 guineas, to the Hon. W. Robinson; filly by Korari-Fallacy, 140 guineas, to Dr. Prims. Mr 0. Webb's Virginia Water was sold for 400 guineas to Mr Murray, of Napier, and Mr Webb's Amazon for 200 guineas to Mr Gr. Butler. The pigeon flying match from Dunedin to Christchurch, a distance of 243 miles, took place on Saturday, and was won by Mr Bryenton's Patentee. Time, 6 hours 56 mins.
