MELBOURNE.
November 9. In the Legislative Council last night the debate on Mr Ramsay's motion regarding the Education Commission was concluded. The division resulted in favor of the Government, the motion being negatived by 47 to 27. The Melbourne Age to-day publishes a special telegram from London stating that the Daily News of tbe 2th instant contains a leading article on the present native crisis in New Zealand, and warmly approves the vigorous action of the Government in dealing with Te Whiti and his followers.
