AUCKLAND.

November 8. A man named Morgan, and his stepson W. McDonald, were drowned yesterday by the capsizing of a boat at Whangarei heads. A twelve-roomed house occupied by Mr Stone, in Symonds-street, has been burned down. The inmates escaped by jumping from the window. The fire originated in the kitcben, but the cause s unknown. Dr. Honeyman's house adjacent was saved by the great exertions of the Fire Brigade. Stone's house was insured for £800 in the Colonial office, and the furniture for £300 in tbe Standard office.
