November 1. Messrs London and Haybittle's general store, and tbe premises of Messrs Bradley and Drummond, at Feilding, were destroyed by fire last evening. No particulars as to the origin have yet reached town. Messrs London and Haybittle's stock was valued at £4,000, and is insured for £1000 in the South British office (half reinsured), and the building for £600 in the New Zealand office. The Standard have a line of £1,300 on London's stock, half of which is reinsured. The following intercolonial weather exchange has been received; —Sydney, Monday evening. . An influential meeting of the promoters of the Catholic Endowment Association was held last night, and from the support received from influential citizens in all parts of the colony it was decided to at once float a c6mpi*py, and resolutions were passed to that effect. Bishop Redwood presided. The Wakatipu was admitted to pratique at noon. Some passengers who refused to be vaccinated were left at the quarantine station, and Twill remain there for ten days.
