NEW PLYMOUTH.
October 28. The two Maoris who were arrested for insulting Mr Bryce were liberated at daylight yesterday morning, after being admonished for their misconduct. The Hon. Major Atkinson and Captain Holme arrived last evening by coach from Opunake. Yesterday afternoon a man named Carnell was run over by a trolly at the harbor works. The trolly passed over the man's right leg. This morning.a young man working on the Goliah slipped and fell to the ground a distance of about twenty feet. He dislocated his elbow and fractured his wrists, besides being severely shaken. {For continuation of news see fourth page.") It has now been decided beyond a doubt by all the leading lights of the age that the wave of heat which lately passed through England is coming for us in a direct line.
