October 24. TberLydia Howarde troupe opened at the County Hall on Saturday night. The attendance was fair. Mr J. Fletcher, hotelkeeper at Marumaru, having lost thirty-five sheep the other night by Maori dogs, went to the pa about it when a native named Waata, ofHau Hau proclivities, threatened to tomahawk bim, and might have done so if he could.
