October 18. .Major Harris addressed a crowded meeting of his constituents last night at 1
Otahuhu. He gave a full account of bis services to the district, and replied to Mr Buckland's statements regarding himself. Mr Frank Lowry contests South Franklyn against Mr Hamlin. Dr. Lemon arrived in the Ringarooma yesterday to superintend the opening oi the telephone exchange, which has already thirty subscribers. The local newspapers have been hoaxed several times lately by bogus matrimonial advertisements. The Auckland Meat Preserving Company is about to send a trial shipment to England.
