Messrs H. Monteith and Co.'s auction sale of horaes, &c, at the Bazaar on faturday •was -well attended. There were 23 horses of various descriptions catalogued, and notwithstanding the number of horse sales held recently, they realised fair values. The classes most in demand at present are good upstanding haclcs and light harness horaes, several buyers for these elanses having to ]pave the yard nnouited. Prices \mchnnged from last quotations. New Zealand five per cents have suffered a dpcline of throe-quarter per cent, and are to-day quoted at 100f for 10-40 loan, and 103| for 1889 loan ; four and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan remains at 98|.
