Having t personally selected a CHOICE STOCK OF NEW SPRING-GOODS, together with a large parcel of Men's, Youths', and Boys' Clothing of a superior quality, all of which MUST BE CLEARED OUT AT ONCE, Regardless of Cost. •c This I'm compelled to do, as I have been advised by this mail of a Large Stock of SPRING AND SUMMER GOODS, specially selected for me in GLASGOW, London and Manufacturing districts, and shipped per the Peninsxilar and Oriental mail steamer which left London on the 29th h July. TAKE NOTICE.—That ib is the intention of the Babbit Trustees for the Hawke's Bay district on the 7th day of October, 1881, to strike a Bate of one Sixth of i Penny per Acre for the period commencing; on the Ist of September, 1881, and ending Slat August, 1882, payable in one Bum on the 2nd January, 1882. ALTHOUGH this office has beon in existence for a period of more than seven years, it is believed that the objects for which it waa established are not sufficiently known or understood. It is desired to set forth in a concise form information respecting the business which this office undertakes : 1. The charge of all kinds of money trusts, such as Marriage Settlements, monies ' to be invested for the benefit of Minors, moneys bequeathed for charitable objects, moneys the title to which is in dispute, or whose legal owner is unknown or cannot be found, . etc., etc. 2. The administration of the wills of persons who , by appointing the Public Trustee as their executor ■ secure the guarantee of the State for the due fulfilment of their wishes, and avoid the risk consequent on the appointment of private persons as executors, who not unfrequently, though earnestly desirous of acting for the benefit of the parties interested, fail to carry out legally the objects for which they were appointed, and consequently involve themselves and those whose interests they are striving to protect in costly and harrassing litigation. 3. The administration of all estates of which no disposition has been made by will, whenever relatives do not wish to incur the responsibility of 1 administration, or cannot from any cause obtain the 1 necessary powers to act. In such cases it is the duty of the Public Trustee to discharge all legal debts so i far as the assets extend, and divide the residue amongst the next of kin. 4. The administration of the estates of lunatics, lunatic patients, and convicts. 6. The charge of lands lying waste and unoccupied p of which the owner is unknown, or who has been absent from the colony for ten years, having left no known agent. A Bye-Law to further regulate the Licensing and Management of Slaughter Houses and Abbatoirs, and • the inspection thereof, and of cattle intended for Elaughtor in the County of Hawke's Bay. j In pursuance of "The Counties Act, 1576," and ! "The Slaughter Houses Act, 1577," the County Council of Hawke's Bay do order as follows, that is to say— 1. Interpretation—Section number 1 of Bye-law No. 4 shall be deemed to apply to all bye-laws and regulations under "The Slaughter Houses Act, 1877," 2. It shall be deemed to be a condition upon which any Licence to keep a Slaughter-house is issued, that the holder thereof shall keep a book wherein shall be entered the fall names of all servants from time to time employed in such licensed Slaughter-house, and the entry of each servants' name shall be signed by such servant; such book shall be produced to the Inspector upon demand.—lf any such .holder shall enter into the said book the name of any person not lonafide his servant, or omit to enter therein the name of any servant or shall permit any person not - bona fide his servant, to slaughter in his Licensed Slaughter-house he shall forfeit and pay for each c offence any sum not exceeding £5. r 3. No cattle shall be slaughtered on Sundays in i any Abbaltoir, except during the hours of 5 p.m. - and 10 p.m. On all other days every Abbatoir Bhall be kept open during the hours hereinafter specified for the slaughtering of cattle therein, and for skinning and dressing the carcases of the cattle so . slaughtered, such hours shall be from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. 4. no portion of any animal shall be delivered or removed from any abbatoir after 10 o'clock p,m. 5. No cattle to be left in the yards longer than 48 hours. 6 Piga taken for slaughter shall not remain longer than 48 hours in sty prepared for them. No pigs intended to be killed will be permitted to be fed in the sty, yard, or precincts of the slaughter-yard. 7, No hides are to be removed before inspect ion J which inspection must be done 24 hours from slaughtering unless the Inspector shall deem it ndvisable for the proper carrying out of " The Slaughter House Act, 1877,' that the hide or hides should ie remain on the premises for such further period as to h him may seem fit. jf 8. "Whoever shall wilfully destroy or damage any i of the property appertaining to tho Slaughter-yard, it house, or premises, shall bo liable to a penalty not n exceeding £5 over and above the amount of damage d done • n 8. Any person who shall violate or fail to obsoi ye any rule's, matters, or things laid down in these byelaws, or .shall'do that which he is not cntitied or allowed to do under the authority of these bya-laws shall bo deemedgullty of an offence, and for each such offence Bhall forfeit and pay any sum not exceeding' Five pounds.
