WHEREAS by the resignation of Gkoeqb Ellis, Enquire, of his office of Councillor for the North Ward of the Borough of Napier, an extraordinary vacancy has occurred; I, the undersigned hereby give notice that I appoint FRIDAY, the 23th day of OCTOBER, 1881, as the day for holding an Election of one Councillor to fill such Vacancy: and I also appoint the Office of the Town Clerk, at Napier, as the place, and FRIDAY, the FOURTEENTH day of OCTOBER, 1881, as the day for the Nomination of Candidates. Any persons desirous of Nominating a Candidate, must, before NOON of the said FOURTEENTH day of OCTOBER, cause to be addressed to me and delivered at the said Town Clerk's Office, a Nomination Paper in the prescribed form, stating the Christian names and surname of such Candidate; and each such Nomination Paper must be signed by two Eleotors of the North Ward of the Borough, and by the Candidate himself in token of his assent to such Nomination.
