Sir Stafford Northcote made a speech to-day at Hull, in the course of which he expressed the jopinion that it was necessary for tbe Government to take vigorous measures to prevent the League doing anything to nullify the effect of the Irish Land Act.
The shipment of frozen meat by the steamer Orient is reported to be in admirable condition.
