Monteith The primary object of the Company is to procure within the town of Napier, a Recreation Ground upon which the town residents and others can take part in euch popular Athletic Sports as Cricket, Football, Caledonian Games, etc, without the great expense and inconvenience attendant upon travelling to such a distance as they are at present compelled to do. To effect that desirable object the Company propose to Lease the Napier Town Hall Reserve, or some other suitable ground, and to make such im. provements as will be considered necessary. The Income of the Company will be derivable from tho rents accruing from the various Athletic Clubs, Friendly Societies, or others requiring the use of the Ground for Sports, Fetes, etc., and it is estimated that extremely moderate charges for such purposes will amount to sufficient to carry on tho business of the Company and leave a balance to be pevoled to further improvements and ornamentation of the Grounds, as the Shareholders deem advisable. Such a Ground is much required and will be an ornament and convenience to the town, and the lacilities afforded for Athletic excercise cannot fail to be greatly conducive to health, and also tho means of saving considerable expense and inconvenience to the members of tho various Clubs and Friendly Societies, who incur heavy travelling expenses in proceeding to hold their festivities and games at a distance from town. _ Applications for Shares will be received, ftt his Office, Hastings-street, to the 20 October next, by the Secretary, Mr H.
