COMMERCIAL.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, report, under date London, 26th September :—The wool competition by both hon. and foreign buyers is active, and the market, is much firmer. Trade in the manufacturing districts is improved. Up to date 244,000 bales have been sold. The sale programme has been curtailed by five days. Tallow is in good demand, mutton 445, and beef 41s per cwt.
AtMe_s Kennedy and .llman's sale this morning orans". sold at lis to 12s per «a=e ; lemons, 13s 6d p. cai*e • apples, 3d to . per lb ; pineapples, 8s 6d per doz.; and preserved bananas at 7d per lb.

Londow, September 26. Consol* have advanced one-eighth, and are quoted to-day at 99£. '.w Zealand securities are unchanged. Five per cent 10-40 loan, 102£ ; five per cent 1889 loan, 102£ ; four and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan, 99£. Adelaide wheat, ex-store, has advances ls to 58a ; New Zealand wheat remains at 55s ; Adelaide flour, ex-store, at 41s 6d. Australian tallow, best beef 425, and best mutton 44s 6d.
