The Union Company's s.s. Arawata, Captain W. C. Sinclair, left for Northern ports shortly before 7 o'clock on Saturday evening, taking some potatoes and other cargo. The steamer Sir Donald, Captain J. Quinlan, left forlWaihua and Moeangiangi shortly after one o'clock on Saturday with passengers and cargo, and returned yesterday morning. The Union Company's s.s. Albion, Capt. Webster, leaves Gisborne to-night at 5 o'clock, and may be looked for by daylight to-morrow morning. She brings 100 tons of cargo for here, which will be lightered by the s.s. v ir Donald and ketch Admiral. Her time of departure for Southern ports is fixed at noon to-morrow. The steamer Kiwi, Copt. Jas. Campbell, arrived here from Wellington at 2 o'clock this morning, and was brought inside and moored at the cattle wharf by the pilot at 6 a.m. She renorts having left Wellington at 4 p.m. on Saturday ; arrived at Castle Point next morning; discharged cargo, and left at 1 p.m., arriving here as above. Experienced fresh westerly weather as far as the Castle, from thence thick southerly with heavy rain till arrival. She brings a full cargo, including transhipments out of the Wave Queen and Alexa. from London. Her advertised time of departure for Gisborne has been altered to 3 o'clock to-morrow, on account of the quantity of cargo to be discharged and shipped. The vessel which we reported in the offing on Saturday turned out, as was expected, to he the ship Hermione, commanded by Captain Eoberts, from London via Auckland. This fine A A 1 vessel is one of Messrs Shaw, Savill and Co.'s line," and is 1120 tons register, which is the largest vessel that has yet loaded wool at this port. She is now anchored at the ballast ground discharging a quantity of her ballasting, preparatory to taking in produce for London, as she has no original cargo for this port. Messrs Kinross and Co. are her agents. The steamers Maori and Result, which were to have left for the Wairoa to-night, will probably bo detained on account of the southerly weather now prevailing. The Union Company's s.s. Boojum's departure for Wairoa has been fixed at midnight to-morrow, weather permitting. The s.s. Oreti, Captain A. Campbell, is telegraphed as having left Gisborne at 10 p.m. yesterday, but had not turned up to the time our reporter left the Spit, the southerly weather now blowing probably having detained her. The s.s., Go- Ahead is to leave Wellington to-niaht for Napier. The New Zealand Shipping Company have despatched from London the Wanganui on July 22 for Lyttelton, the Piako for Wellington on July 28, the Otaki for Otago on July 28. and the Ftracathro for Auckland on July 29.

Shaw, Saville and Co.'s liner Antares [left for Auckland on July 30.
