At the conclusion of a sermon somewhere in lowa the preacher requested some one to pass around the hat and ' take up a collection.' A young man, a stranger in the place, jumped up and commenced ' circulating the hat , in such a way as to finish the job at the door and pass out with the proceeds. The preacher eyeing him as he went out, observed: 'If that young man runs away with that money he will be d d.' A deacon sitting by the window seeing turn make off down the street, responded : 4 ..u» i if he has not run away with the iuone> ii« be d~——d. .
