CALCUTTA.

September 22. Serious riots occurred yesterday at Mooltan, in Punjaub, between a number of rival sects of the native population In the fighting which took place several temples and mosques were greatly damaged, and many of the rioters were seriously injured. The disturbance lasted for some hours, and was only quelled by the military, who were called out in force to disperse the rioters. Official telegrams to hand from Afghanistan report that the rival forces of the Ameer and Ayoub Khan are still in the neighborhood of Candahar. The Ameer's army is stated to be greatly inferior to that of Ayoub's.
