September. 19 —Result, s.s., for Wairoa, with several passengers. 19—Oreti, s.s., for Poverty Bay and Auckland. Passengers—Mr and Mrs Joe Price, Mr.and Mrs Ingpen, Mr Fisher and 2 others. 20—Maori, s.s., for Mohaka and Wairoa. Passengers—Messrs Balfour (2), W. U. Burke, and 3 natives. 20—Boojum, s.s., for Wairoa. Passengers Messrs S. Locke, P. S. McLean, and sevral others.
The s.s. Q-o-ATiead, Captain P. Doile, arrived iv the bay from Dunedin via Southern ports and the coast at 11 o'clock last night. We are indebted to Captain Doile for the following report of passage : —Left Dunedin at 6 a.m. on the 13th ; arrived at Oamaru at 11 a.m., and left at 3 a.m. on the 14th ; arrived at Timaru at 7 a.in,; left for Lyttelton at 6 p.m. same clay, and arrived at 8 a.m. on the 15th ; left at 4 p.m., and arrived in Wellington at 11 a.m. on tbe 16th ; left again at 5 p.m. on Saturday 17th for Napier via the coast; landed cargo at Castle Point and Ureti on Sunday, and at Akiteo on Monday morning ; left Alri*eo at 11 a.m. on Monday, and arrived here as above. She experienced heavy B.W. and W. gales, with snow, and sleet, from Dunedin to Timarn, thence moderate weather and smooth sea to Akiteo, whence heavy sea and stronsr _E. wind till arrival. She was brought inside by the pilot and berthed at the breastwork, at 4 o'clock this morning. Her cargo, about 100 tons, consists principally of transhipments ex Alexa from London. She returns to Wellington this afternoon. The s.s. Oreti, Captain A. Campbell, steamed for Poverty Bay and Auckland at 4 p.m. yesterday, taking a quantity of cargo, and two vnluable young bulls, the property of Mr J. Price. Some little difficulty was experienced in shipping these animals, and one of them fell into the water between the ship's side and the breastwork ; he was got out, however, without having sustained any injury. The s.s. Result, Capt. W. E. Baxter, left for Wairoa at 8 o'clock yesterday morning, with several passengers. The p.s. Manaia was yesterday morning haulbd over to the breastwork, and will receive a thorough overhaul, after which she will resume her old position in the Wairoa trade, under the command of Capt. W. E. Baxter.
The 3.3. Maori, Capt. H. -Anderson, steamed forMohaka and Wairoaat 8 o'clock this morning, with three passengers and a full load of cargo, chiefly for Mohaka. The 9.9. Boojum, Capfc. E. Maloney, left for Wairoa at 11.30 a.m. to-day, taking a quantity of cargo, and several passengers. The schooner Columbia, Capt. Oonway, took in a load of bnllnst this morning, and will sail for Auckland this afternoon. The s.s. Sir Donald, Oapt. J. Quinlan, leaves for Blackhead with a load of timber and station stores, to-night. The s.s. Fairy, Capt. J. Campbell, has now on board a full load of posts, station stores, &c, for Kairakan, and will leave as soon a<? the*weather settles. * (BY TMII-F.) Fcotdon, September 19. The Orient Company's steamship fotopaxi, whifh left Melbourne on August 8, arrived at Plymouth yesterday. September 19. Arrived, this afternoon, P. and O. Company's steamship Hydaspes, with tho English mails via Suez, dated London, August 12.
