(FROM OUK OWN CO-RESPONDENT.) Wellington, September 16. The second readings of tho Liberty of the Pres3 Extension Bill and Newspapers Bill were called on last night almost immediately upon the re-assembling of the House, but in j consequence of the temporary absence of the , introducers of tho hills they were not proceeded with, ifc being agreed that they should be called on on a future occasion. When the Council met at 2.30 p.m. yesterday, Mr Whitakor immediately moved the adjournment till 7.30 as a mark of respect to the memory of Mr Moorhouse. Ho said that, thflugb. ifc was not usual for one Chamber to adjourn upon the death of a member of another, yet in this _ case Mr Moorhouse's character, and his distinguished puble career, warranted them in departing from the precedent, and paying a last tribute of respect to the deceased gentleman. The Council then adjourned.
