I have examined sample of M'Ewan's Euinbuugh India Paltc Alb submitted to me, and, as a sample of what can be done by a good, honest brewer, it is perfect. No foreign cheap bitter, such as Quassia—no Poisonous " Drug-, such as Strychnine, Picric, Acid or Cocculus Indicu9. Nothing but the Proddovs of Purb Malt and Hops, brewed and fermented in a cool atmosphere, and bottled with cara. Admirers of flrat-clasa British Beer may use this brand as ai present offered for sale without disappointment. As a pure wholesouie Bottled Alb it may be strongly recommended. \VM. I have examined the SAMPLK of M'EwiN'B ROTTLBD Alb submitted to me, and find that it contains — Alcohol by weight, 540 per cent; or by voluino, 6 - 55 per cent. Extractive niaUer, 306 per cent.; Acid matter, o'l7 per cent. I have also examined the Ale for such deleterious ingredients as are sometimes added to Beer, and have found no indication of their presence. The three first conditions laid down by tho Committee for Wines and Bbers for the late International Exhibition, as thote to which especial prominence would be given, were—lst, Low alcoholic percentage: 2nd, Freedom from, acidity; 3rd Absence of fussl oil; and all these ire fulfilled in this sample.
